CLYNELISH DISTILLERY VISIT 2012

When you visit Clynelish distillery, your thoughts will go to Brora distillery instantly. No wonder, as the remains of the Brora distillery are still next to the Clynelish distillery. Brora was originally named Clynelish and in 1967 a second distillery was built next to the original Clynelish site. This distillery was named Clynelish 2. As the original Clynelish re-opened in 1969, its name was changed to Brora and the other distillery kept the name Clynelish.

The distillery just has 2 extra washbacks fitted. An extra part has been built next to the present 8 Oregon pine washbacks, 2 stainless steel washbacks are added here. This was necessary to enable the distillery to start production during 7 days a week, instead of 5.
