GLEN GRANT DISTILLERY PICTURES
The pictures in the slide show at the left, were taken by Frans Brouwer – The Whisky Friend. The pictures are used with kind permission from him.
Coming into Rothes from Elgin, the first thing you see is a road sign guiding you to the Glen Grant distillery. Glen Grant has been a major mark in the whisky industry for a long time. Especially the Southern European markets are interested in Glen Grant, no wonder Gruppo Campari was interested.
The distillery is, although no pictures were allowed, in good shape. The visitor centre is nice and from the visitor centre there is a possibility to visit the Glen Grant gardens that were set up by Major James Grant. He loved to take his guests along the garden and then for a dram that he kept in a safe in the garden. The safe is still there, the gardens too, but sadly enough parts of the gardens are still closed. The part that is still open to visitors is however looking quite nice.
